About The Earthquake
A massive, 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti near the capital of Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, January 12th. The damage to buildings is extensive and the number of injured or dead is estimated to be in the hundreds, even thousands. They are out of funds in Haiti and we are seeking people to donate anything they can in this time of crisis.
Your gift now will help distribute life-saving relief supplies – including food, clean water, blankets, and tents — to children and families devastated by the earthquake and aftershocks in Haiti.
We would be very concerned about a quake of this magnitude anywhere in the world, but it is especially devastating in Haiti, where people are acutely vulnerable because of poor infrastructure and extreme poverty.
2nd Earthquake Hits Haiti!
A second powerful earthquake rocked the terrified survivors of Haiti yesterday.
It was unclear last night what effect the new quake - measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale - would have on the relief operation. The first devastating quake measured 7.
It was the most significant of 40 aftershocks since the January 12 quake, striking 35 miles north-west of Port-au-Prince, where screaming people ran into the streets and buildings shook.

Brooklyn has the largest Haitian population in New York City tri-state area and being part of the community we have to give back and be there for our follow neighbors. There will be many scam during this time of catastrophe that is why we are making sure all donations and contributions of canned goods, clothing, and money be sent to the "American Red Cross " and to Haiti.
Remember, this is just the beginning of the destruction & rebuilding in Haiti "American Red Cross" & the people will need your help for many months or years to come! We pray that everyone does not forsake or forget Haiti after a few months! Please pray for everyone in Haiti!!! Unlike other countries, Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere with 9 million people & 3 million people that are affected directly by the earthquake! There are 45,000 American in Haiti when the Earthquake happen many are volunteer & Humanitarian worker! After the earthquake there are no government, infrastructure or law & order! Prior to the earthquake there are many children that only had either a shirt or a pants or even shoes but they are humble and proud people. We plead with everyone as a human being to please donate whatever you can! Even shoes & clothes we will make sure it gets to Haiti! We know that there are many places that are taking contribution & donations but there is never enough places that you can come & contribute 7 days week. Our heart & prayers goes out to the people of Haiti & their loved ones.
